RECRUITING VOLUNTEERS
Volunteer Centre Derbyshire Dales can help local voluntary organisations to recruit and retain volunteers:
- We can advise on local recruitment strategies
- We can enter your Opportunity Details onto Do-It, the national database of volunteering opportunities.
- We run Training Events to help you make the most of your volunteers
We have two Volunteer Development Officers who between them cover the whole of the Derbyshire Dales area:
- Sam Tock (01629 810907) covers the northern part of the Derbyshire Dales, based in Bakewell.
- Debbie Webster (01335 218604) covers the southern part of the Derbyshire Dales, based in Ashbourne.
ATTRACTING AND RETAINING VOLUNTEERS
In time, this site will include some resources to help organisations wanting to improve their success at attracting and retaining volunteers.
For now, we suggest that you look at "The 21st Century Volunteer" - a report that has attracted somewhat sensationalised news coverage, but which includes valuable insight into the ways in which voluntary organisations may need to develop their approach to volunteers to keep up with changes in society. The report can be downloaded free of charge, but you do need to register brief details about yourself.
